Tonight, I was privileged to donate my photography skills to document a very inspiring event...
The Make-A-Wish Foundation and a Los Angeles-based online marketing company has granted Ryan Post’s wish to have an arcade-style pinball machine. Ryan is a very nice 11-year-old kid who was born with arthrogryposis and severe scoliosis, making it difficult for him to move his joints and compromising his respiratory function. The pinball machine was customized, so that Ryan could control it through the micro-switches on his wheel chair.
He was glowing with excitement when the Spiderman showed up to help the sponsor uncover his gift.:) I was very touched - even from behind the lens, and was extremely happy to be a part of this memorable charity event.
During Thanksgiving holidays, our family took the opportunity to visit our friends in Paris, and we were VERY impressed by Paris and Les Parisian!...
First of all, the abundance of the creative materials, from collections in museums to decorative details on the buildings and streets. There is a lot of texture and unlimited inspiration for creativity in this city. On top of all the world renowned museums, we also visited a brand new museum, Musee du Quoi Branly, which has just opened up in March this year and was highly recommended for their novel museum design. It adopted a very contemporary design to show case some very rare and valuable ethnic art collections. The stories and messages were delivered in highly interactive multimedia format. With abundant art collection from around the world in front of me, I started to see the evolution of art work and how different cultures inspired each other creatively.
The other parts that got inspired and engaged a lot were our happy taste buds.:) We made a habit to start our day with aromatic espresso and crunchy, buttery croissants. Of course, with a huge selection of cakes that they have in the City of Romance - from fruity flavor to creamy chocolate - we could not resist and continued to have laid back afternoons in the local cafes. At night, mouth-watering roasted leg of lamb from the local restaurant near Place de la Bastille prepared us for the next exciting day in Paris.
French were always known for their good food. This time, we got a chance to live like the Parisian and discovered their major love for food: they really enjoy dining and only use the freshest and most natural ingredients. Fortunately, we lived right above the largest farmer’s market in Paris and got a glimpse of it. While going through the market, the warm childhood memory of holiday shopping with my mom came back to my head. People were happy and cheerful! They were buying the freshest produce from the biggest food selection I’ve ever seen. A warm and delicious dinner that night was guaranteed...;-)
I did a short photo journal to share with you the feelings that I got in the market, and can only wish you could also experience the wonderful tasty aromas that were floating in the air that day!...
